Alison has been in the real estate business for 15+ years and has served HAR in the following capacities: President Elect, Finance Committee, Director, Social/Public Relations Committee and Equal Opportunity Housing Committee. She is a member of National Association of Realtors and Illinois Association of Realtors. She is Managing Broker of American Realty in Sycamore. Her community involvement includes Kishwaukee YMCA Board of Directors and Chair of their Resource Development Committee,Contributor to Huskie Athletic Scholarship Fund,Contributor to various local non-for-profit events. She attended North Central College of Naperville, graduated with a BA in Marketing. Helped run a family business which consisted with marketing and shipping for locally owned small businesses.
Patty Martinez - President Elect
She has been in the Real Estate Industry for: 22 years. Local Association Committee Involvement includes: Education, Professtional Standards, and Public Relations. She has the following designations: GRI. She is currently involved in these committees in her community: Sterling Main Street. Committee, Sauk Valley Chamber of Commerce Sights and Sounds and Bridge the Community 5k/10k run. She graduated from Robert Morris University in Illinois. She then lived in Dallas, Texas, then moved to Chicago Il. and then back to Rock Falls, Illinois. She was the Administrative Secretary for Woodhaven Lakes Association.
Mary Rita Nelson - Treasurer
Mary has been in the real estate business for 30 years and is a Broker at Castle View Real Estate in DeKalb, Illinois. She has served HAR in the following capacities: Director, Treaurer, Education Committee and Finance Committee. She is working towards her GRI designation. In the community Mary is President of St Vincent dePaul Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (Regent) and she was formerly a Teacher and Education Coordinator.

I have years of customer service and sales experience, and decided to put my experience and knowledge to use in the Real Estate Profession. I specialize in first time home buyers and veteran home purchasers. I am an aggressive, self-starting, business minded professional who is anxious to work for you! I have bought and sold millions of dollars of real estate in Illinois. I was the 2014 Rookie of the Year for HAR.
Nancy Fritts - Director
Nancy has been in the real estate business for 17 years and is a Broker with Heartland Realty LLC in Dixon, IL. Her involement in HAR includes: Director, Past Chair of Public Relations Committee and she is currently the State Legislative Contact for the Illinois REALTORS for Sentor Tim Bivins. She has her GRI designation. Her community involvement includes: Dixon Riverfront Commission Secretary, Rehab for Dignity Board Member and Meals on Wheels Volunteer. Prior to real estate she owned a Paint/Wallpaper Business called The Paper Girls.
Melissa has been in the real estate business for 11 years and is Managing Broker of Hometown Realty Group in Sycamore, Illinois. She has served HAR in the following capacities: Social/Public Relations Committee. Illinois REALTORS involvement includes: Major Investor in the REALTORS Political Action Committee and attends conferences. Her community involvement includes: Being active in her church, Christ Community Church. Volunteers for Feed My Starving Children and varies other organizations as needed. Also volunteers at her children's schools and many community events. Prior to real estate, she was a student and coached basketball for traveling teams and the Sycamore High School varsity team. She is an entreprenuer and loves everything to do with business.
Matt Hoffman - Director
Matt has been in the real estate business for 6 years and is a Broker for Hoffman Realty in Monroe Center, IL. He is currently a Director for HAR and he helps with the community service projects with his son's local Boy Scout Troop in Genoa, IL. After college he sold cars at Sycamore Ford and Rock River Ford for about 2 years. He then joined the Laborers Local 32 and later 96 where he did underground construction...everything from water and sewer pipes to phone and fiber optic cables. After that, he became licensed to work at the family business Hoffman Realty.
Hillary Joy - Guest Director
Hillary has been in the real estate business for 11 years and is our newest Guest Director. She is a Broker with RGM Real Estate in St Charles, IL. She is Team Leader for Ministry Team for Mission and Outreach at 1st Congregational UCC DeKalb, IL. Prior to real estate she was involved with Sales and Office Administration.
Bonita Willis - Director
Bonita has been in the real estate business for 10 years and is a Managing Broker at Woodhaven Lakes Realty in Sublette, IL. She is a current Director for HAR and her community involvement includes: St Patrick's Parish in Amboy and is a Lector and Sunday School Teacher. She is a past Sunday School Aide, Amboy Chamber Volunteer and a Guide/Hostess for the Amboy Depot Museum. She previously worked in several different fields, all very different from real estate. Hospital Office, Home Health Care Aide, Market Research in Chicago, Waitress and School Secretary.
Carrie Ottum - Past President
Carrie has been in the real estate business for 16 years and is Managing Broker of Weichert REALTORS Signature Professionals in DeKalb, Illinois. She has served HAR in the following capacities: Board of Directors, various committees including Executive Committee. She is a Major Donor for the REALTORS Political Action Committee and is involved in Feed My Starving Children, Sponsor of Rec Center Children's Sport Leagues and Sponsor of local high school athletic departments. She owned a day care center in DeKalb for 13 years. She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Degree in Early Childhood Education.
